PM Path ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use PM Path:

Account information: Email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth). If you sign in with LinkedIn, we receive your name and email from LinkedIn.
Profile data: Your background, target role, and timeline that you provide during onboarding.
Usage data: Lessons completed, skills added, and roadmap progress — stored in your browser's localStorage and optionally synced to our database.
Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We only receive confirmation of payment status from Stripe.
Conversations with Alex: Messages you send to the AI mentor. These are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses and are not permanently stored by us.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and personalise your learning roadmap
To power Alex, your AI career mentor, with context about your goals
To process payments and manage your subscription
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
To improve PM Path based on aggregate usage patterns

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (AWS EU region). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

4. Third-Party Services

PM Path uses the following third-party services:

Supabase — authentication and database (supabase.com)
Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com)
Anthropic — AI responses via Claude API (anthropic.com)
Vercel — hosting and deployment (vercel.com)

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Export your data
Withdraw consent at any time

6. Cookies

PM Path uses essential cookies and localStorage for authentication and storing your learning progress. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

PM Path is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform.
